Sooo much to talk about.

VMA's 02? All in all, pretty stupid. I like listening to Eminem's stuff too...but damn, he needs to grow up or something. It's a freakin award show, and he's startin (more) shit with Moby. Everyone was just kinda laughing at the Comic Dog while Moby played it cool and Eminem has to go and be all hard and shit. I mean, who gets up to accept and award and then says something like, "I will not hesitate to hit a girl in glasses"? Or something like that...I don't remember the exact words.

Eh... what else? Christina Aguilera!! Holy shit, what the hell happened to her?? Her boobs were poppin outta the bottom of her shirt, her ass was hanging out... she looked like suuuuch a skanky ho. I guess singing talent doesn't automatically equal fashion sense. Damn.

haha..and every time they showed Justin, they'd pan to Britney, and vice versa. eeeww...don't even get me started on Justin. What the hell was that? Is he having an identity crisis? That song and that performance was like a flashback to Michael Jackson (who by the way, I do NOT understand, do NOT like, and do NOT see how he can be the king of pop if he hasn't done anything successful in like 10 years). I may not have really ever liked N Sync or Justin, but I was willing to give him props if he did good. He did NOT do good. He could at least be original and bad. Instead, he opted for unoriginal and bad. *sigh* I mean, he says the solo album is all "him." Identity crisis. Is plastic surgery and a playground ranch next?

Busta Rhymes was robbed. Robbed I tell ya. J. Lo for best hip hop video?? I liked the song and all, but... c'mon. It's the video music awards. Her video wasn't anything really great. Her and Ja Rule dancing around, that was about it. Fun to watch, but still, nothing really great. And Coldplay totally should have won best group video!

Good parts of the show? Dashboard Confessional won!!! Yeeah!!! =D Britney didn't prance across the stage half naked again. Although I'm sure all the males in the population were disappointed by that.

whew. Okay, I'm done ranting about that. What else...? Oh yeah. My mini family vaca. It was surprisingly fun. I didn't think it'd suck but I didn't think it'd really be fun.

Day 1: Traffic wasn't actually that bad. And we did find an outlet center with a Puma store in it. Yay!! I got my white and orange Pumas for... $30!!!!!!!! Half the price of the blue ones from the mall! The sole isn't orange but... hey, #30 and they were orange, so yay! When we finally got to Santa Barbara, we stopped at the beach for a while (soooo nice) and went to Mission Santa Barbara. And on the way to San Luis Obispo, we stopped at Solvang (it's a Danish town or something). Not really that interesting. Cool to look at for about five minutes. Good cheesecake danish though...

Day 2: Plans got rearranged because tickets for Hearst Castle sold out. Who knew so many people cared about seeing that? I sure as hell didn't... but we ended up goin to some of the beaches again (there were NO crowds since the beaches were all by the highway not near any big city or anything), saw another 2 missions, and had some kick ass seafood! Try seafood quesadillas...trust me. Yum.

Day 3: Hearst Castle. Gigantic, off in the boonies (okay, not really.... jus like 45 minutes from San Luis Obispo), pretty, hella freakin flip hot. The outside of the house was sooo much prettier than the inside. They had like, Spanish style, Mediterranean style, a pool surrounded by Greek/Roman ruins, and a whole lotta other crazy ass stuff. Every room was crammed with antiques which is why I thought it didn't look that good. Waaay too much stuff in a room. Too busy. And no air conditioning. At all. =P

Hotel was niiiice. First off, we didn't make reservations so it took forever to find one. We tried all the nice AAA ones, but the good ones were all booked. So we ended up at one called Morgan's Mansions Lodging. No rating because it was newly opened. Not cheap. But when we got in the room, definitely worth it. The price was cheaper than the rest of the Labor Day overpriced motel/hotels, and the room was sooo much better. Seriously seriously new and clean. And big. =D

Last thing... I got the new Time magazine today. It's the 9-11-02 issue. I think the issue date tells you everything. I stuck that quote in as the current lyric/quote I'm loving because it's sooo true. D.C.'s back to democrats and republicans all arguing over trivial things, the media's back to freaking out over who the American Idol winner's going to be, and everyone else? Everyone who's not a New Yorker and who didn't have a family member or friend be deeply affected by 9-11 has pretty much gone back to normal. Is that bad? I guess not. It's just pretty sad to see greedy money people trying to capitalize on the patriotism that's appeared. I mean, everywhere you go now, there's something with the American flag on it. I'm not saying it's bad that people are patriotic or anything at all. I just think it's pretty sad that selfish greedy people are making money off it with their cheap flags, and crappy looking t-shirts. I'm proud to be an American. Does that mean I have to buy everything with a flag on it? I don't think so. Being proud isn't about wearing a t-shirt or paying $2.99 for a pencil with the words "I love the USA."

*sigh* Okay, I'm done for today. ;)
